Let people decide what works for them before they arrive.

Pick the day and format

18 June is Autistic Pride Day, and any day works. Choose a short talk, a lunch, a reading of the six actions or a discussion of one action.

Publish what will happen, when it starts, how long it runs and where it takes place. Keep private addresses out of a public listing.

Tell people what to expect

Quiet space: say whether there is somewhere to step away.

Light and noise: explain the room before people arrive.

Step free access: explain how people get in and around.

Captions: say what is available for talks, online and in the room.

Come and go: explain whether people can leave and return.

Communication: offer ways to take part without speaking. For online events, say whether cameras are optional.

Invite and list it

Use a clear invitation with the format, length, location and access information. Give people a way to ask for what they need.

Add the event to the campaign list. Tell us what, where and when, and what people can expect. Events are listed after a check.

Afterwards

Record what you did and what it led to. If your organisation made a commitment, report the actions and outcomes. Ask people what helped and what should change next time.
